PRIVATE COACHING
I offer Private coaching by the hour for actors of all ages and levels of experience. I have coached actors as young as 4 years old all the way up to seniors. I have helped actors prepare auditions and roles for major feature films, commercials and TV shows in LA and I will work with you here in the Salt Lake area to tailor a private session that meets your needs and makes the best use of our time. No two auditions are the same and actors need to understand the differences between auditioning for a multi-camera sitcom, single camera TV shows, feature films, and commercials. All require something unique of the actor.
Coaching will help you make strong choices, use buttons that book commercials, access your true essence and work on truly staying present in the scene. Extra attention is given to listening and reacting in the moment, not pre-planning how you think your character should react. That can be detrimental to your audition. Charla is an award-winning actress and highly sought-after acting coach, now based in SLC. She has been teaching and coaching actors of all ages and abilities for over 25 years!! She led the kids division in Los Angeles at award-winning studio, Keep It Real Acting for two years, as well as privately caoching Utah kids and teens that consistently audition in LA for Disney, Nickelodeon and other major projects both in LA and SLC. She has a gift for working with young actors and understands how to help them make strong choices, and give a more natural performance. DEMO REELS
In the rapidly moving and ever-evolving digital age, the need for an effective and well edited demo reel is critical more than ever before. The point of a professional actor reel is to showcase you, your skills/ experience, and your character range/ type. An awesome reel starts with you acting RIGHT AWAY. It also shows you in a character type that is definitely you, while spelling out your range and caliber. Your demo reel is your calling card and will show what simply cannot be seen in a headshot or on a resume. If you have been acting for while and have a few clips of high quality footage that shows you on screen and not as a background player – then it’s time to put together an acting reel.
I offer full-service editing for professional demo reels. I will work with you to negotiate a fair price based on what you need done. Whether you need a quick edit with clips you have already selected and uplaoded, or perhaps we are starting from scratch and you need me to upload footage and consult with you on which clips to include and go from there. I have the full-editing software and video ripping capabilities to make your demo reel; engaging, brief and up to industry standards.
$50 per hour for demo reel services, with footage provided by the actor

ANNOUNCING CHARLA’S NEXT COMMERCIAL AUDITIONING INTENSIVE FOR ADULT ACTORS!! SUNDAY – AUGUST 18TH / 2-6pm At The Actors Workshop, 1400 S. Foothill Drive, Suite 225 Don’t miss this 4-hour intensive to learn all the best techniques for those tricky commercial auditions. Invest in yourself by getting quality training to learn how to audition for every type of commercial (one-liners, testimonials, non-speaking spots, group scenes, and more) There are specific things you can incorporate, that most actors don’t think they have permission to do in the audition room. Take control of your career, gain confidence and book more! Charla taught and trained in LA for several years with one of the best commercial teachers in the industry, Judy Kain, who has booked over 400 commercials in her career so far. Charla knows how to teach and she know how to book. A busy working actress, herself, she books dozens of commercials locally and can help you learn how she does it. Space is limited, so don’t wait to register. Class size is limited to 12 students to allow for ample time on-camera for each actor. This workshop is open to actors age 16 and older of all level of experience.
